Kuwa Kubwa is an alternative education collaborative for Black and Brown children. The school began as a two-hour per day education program and was one of Black Sovereign Nation's pilot initiatives. Now, Kuwa Kubwa exists as a full day program and year-round school serving grades Pre-K through 8th.
Our community must cease to depend on institutions of white supremacy to educate our children. BSN works with students and their families to provides in home and cooperative education alternatives for Black and Brown students (free of charge). Our hope for Kuwa Kubwa is that it will grow alongside Black Sovereign Nation, fulfilling the needs of families who are ready to take steps toward Black autonomy by breaking the chains and liberat the hearts and minds of our children.

Black Sovereign Nation is proud to offer the community an independent, monthly journal that both informs, uplifts, and empowers the African diaspora. Black Sovereign Press is also a platform for Black podcasts, film, and other media.

A Direct Action Campaign
BSN remains committed to developing escalating, multi-phase direct action campaigns that challenge the tyranny of oppressive entities. Our efforts include mass mobilization around issues such as excessive force, inequitable education, and gentrification.
BSN is trains its members to utilize tactics such as de-escalation, mediation, crisis management, and armed defense to form an organized effort for protecting our community. We also partner with other local organizations and collectives
BSN advocates for systems that value equity & freedom, but also engages our current political system to construct a tenable landscape for Black people forced to operate within capitalism and representative democracy.
In our effort establish a system of cooperative economics, BSN is developing a housing co-op for members of the Black community. Our vision is a community of self sustaining black owned/occupied homes.
Farming for Black Freedom
In an effort to empower Black and Brown communities to be healthy, self sustaining, and economically autonomous, Black Sovereign Nation has initiated a community farming initiative. Farming for Black Freedom is a backyard gardening program that takes farming to the hood. Our objective is to feed the community as well as enable it to practice cooperative economics through agriculture.
